They Really ARE Knockouts!

I had to stop and cut some roses on my way to the bus stop with Drew this afternoon.

These are called Knockout roses

I planted a bunch of Knockout roses last year.  If you don't have any in your garden, look for them next spring at Home Depot. They're inexpensive, and grow fast.

They have been so beautiful all spring and summer and here we are headed into winter and I'm getting the best bouquets yet.  The cut flowers last a really long time too.

This is just a painting I did of roses and since it was in the picture above I thought I'd show you a close up.  It's one of my favorite paintings I've done.

Red roses are on my very short list of flowers I never want in my house.  These were supposed to be pink. My eye says they're red, but there is just enough pink in them that I welcome this bouquet in my house.

I'm hoping that I'll have more to cut around Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving!

And you paint, too? I feel like I've learned so much about you over the past year - all good, of course! Hope you have a lovely Holiday, Julie - thanks for all of your support and friendship!
