And for my next trick I'll attempt...

Wallpaper the powder room!

Ever since I heard about this Sherwin Williams EasyChange wallpaper that is pre-pasted and can be easily removed, I've been really excited to give it a try.

They say its easy to put up.

They say you can "remove it simply by pulling it off the wall - no special tools or solvents needed."

They have some very pretty designs too.

Today I'm showing you what the powder room looks like now--the before.

I've hated the color of my powder room since the day we moved in. And it's directly across from our front door, so it's the first room anyone sees when entering our house. (I think that's so weird!)

What you see when you walk in my front door

I've tried to make the room look as pretty as possible (and less like a bathroom) without spending a lot of money.  I put a piece of furniture in for storage.

made a silk skirt for the sink.

I put my $5 yard sale bust in there for a little bit of unexpected whimsy. (I thinks it's kind of funny.)

And now I've ordered this EasyChange wallpaper. It should be here this week and I intend to get started right away.

I'm hoping this oversized damask print on the walls will give it a fun and elegant vibe.  The color flows nicely with the color of my entry and the floor tiles.

I'm not sure how this wallpaper project is going to go down because I've never been very good with measuring,  but it should be interesting.

I'd love to hear what do you think about the print? Or if you've used EasyChange yet?

Hi Julie. I love this wallpaper! Interestingly enough, I saw the same one in black and white on Saturday in a boutique on U St. It was above a chair rail, looked amazing! I thought to myself, where could I use it. Of course, I should leave it to the pros, including yourself. I think it will look great in the powder room, especially against the dark armoire. I am not a big fan of wallpaper in general, but you and this room can pull it off. Good luck!

Love your choice, Julie. The only way I would ever entertain this as a diy is the removable option. Good luck!!

I would love to hear more about how you made the silk skirt for the sink and how you attatched it. I am currently removing about 800sq ft of wallpaper from our living room. Thank the powers that be that the wallpaper was made of fabric and it pulls off by the entire sheet. This paper you describe sounds promising that it won't make you hate life later on!

I haven't used the wallpaper and will be so interested to see how you do with it (I am not a perfectionist with measuring/leveling/etc either!). I am in love with your cabinet. I think this room is going to be so elegant when you're done!

Hi. I love the easy-change wallpaper you plan on using. I've done a couple of projects with easy-change and it works great. Can you tell me the name of the book or the pattern number for the damask easy change? I wasn't able to find it in yellow but I would love to try it out. Thanks!
