Lady of Leisure - working with what I've got

With all the newfound time on my hands lately and no desire to bring another thing into this house,  I've been using what I've accumulated and sewing up a storm.

I've been making pillow covers for all the inserts I already have.
I wanted to bring in a little purple so I splurged a few months ago
and bought 1/2 yard of this soft stripe chenille.

It was $50 per yard, so I only used it on the front sides and used an ivory velvet remnant I already had for the backs.  I was able to make two big squares and the one little lumbar pillow.
3 custom chenille/velvet pillows = $25

I also wanted to jump on the ikat bandwagon.
I bought 2 yards of this fabric online @ $17 per yard.
I've made three pillows so far and I have more fabric.
3 cutting edge ikat pillows = $30

I've had this stripe silk remnant for a few years. Finally put it to use by making a table skirt.
I can't remember how much it was, I'm thinking all in it cost $12.

I think I paid $3 per yard for this fabric.

I whipped up some curtain panels for the kitchen.

Two new curtain panels = $12

This last little stripe pillow (made with remnant piece) doesn't even really count
because I don't think it's staying.

I was trying to "man up" Matt's chair, but he doesn't really want any pillow.

I'm just kind of making up my patterns and plans as I go along.

Can you imagine what I could do if I actually knew how to sew?...

Next week I hope to show you my finished living room curtains w/ valances.

you are killing me. sewing for me is pure torture. i'm so jealous that you can just whip these up.

and i love the ikat in the room. and i love matt's pillow too. larry absolutely hates throw pillows. he doesn't understand the need/love i have for them.

Girl you and your sewing machine have been running overtime. I am so impressed! I love all the windows and light you have coming in your home. I am having "light envy" over here. Bonnie

Love that you did these pillows yourself - the Ikat ones and the velvet are fantastic - would look great in our living room too. I can't believe how expensive pillows are to get made up - you have saved yourself hundreds of dollars!

Of course I love it all, especially those curtains. I regret that I never learned to sew. Maybe you could come sew a bunch of stuff up for me :)
