Another Day In our Nation's Capital

This weekend we packed a picnic and had lunch on the National Mall
and participated in the annual kite festival.  As usual we got there early.

By the time we were ready to leave things were really picking up.
See all those specs? They're kites.

I'm not sure who enjoys kite flying more. Matt or Drew...

We chatted with the mounted police for a minute.
(This sweet (huge) horse turned and put his head on my shoulder as we posed for our photo)

Ahhhh, Spring AND kites are in the air.

What a wonderful way to send March on her way. Love the pictures. I thought of you today as I started cutting monkey grass by hand (Roger usually cut it with the weed eater; he waited too long.) Oh I have so much more to cut.
